Partnership Profile

John has considerable experience of partnership work both (historically) as a junior and in the past 17 years as a silk. The latter has included a long-running dispute over the partnership arrangements of a somewhat controversial firm of accountants and a considerable number of solicitors’ partnership disputes. It is in the very nature of partnership work that a lot of work is confidential, and clients go to great lengths to avoid cases ending up in court.

However occasionally that does not prove possible, and two of John’s partnership cases from relatively recent years have been reported (Cobbetts LLP v Hodge, and Bailey v Wood and Ors.). John has been a Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales law school in Sydney since 2004. He is also a frequent speaker at legal seminars in the United Kingdom.

In 2012 John received Birmingham Law Society’s ‘Barrister of the Year’ award.
