Insolvency & Restructuring Profile

Gavin practises as a junior member of the Insolvency Team. His emphasis is on cases of personal insolvency, and he has thus attended various bankruptcy petitions and related hearings. These cases can often involve enquiries into the realities of property ownership, to which Gavin brings his knowledge of the relevant equitable principles. He has, for instance, recently advised on an alleged ‘sham’ trust instituted by a bankrupt. In the corporate context, knowledge of these principles would extend to the assessment of the actions of director fiduciaries of insolvent or prospectively insolvent companies.
