Wills, Trusts & Probate Profile

Gavin is developing his expertise in contentious probate and related work as part of a broader emphasis on Chancery matters within his practice. Of late he has advised upon various issues including proprietary estoppel and Inheritance Act claims. Otherwise he has dealt with a number of problems arising from intestacy, in respect of alleged equitable interests binding estates, and as to the formalities for wills. He has also considered more particular questions, such as of intermeddling/executorship de son tort and the IHT implications of various dispositions.

He has appeared in court on such applications as those seeking the removal of PRs.

Gavin is keen to continue to build upon his work in this area, using his property and trusts expertise in so doing.
